I helped construct the Olympic Site, tell the story of the Greatest Show on earth, and am on site for the Legacy build until 2014.

London Legacy Company Queen ELizabeth Olympic Park Tour

So I managed to get on the tour of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park yesterday, 1st December 2012. On a very cold but occasionally bright day I got my self back down to the Olympic Park in Stratford E20 for the first time since the end of the Summer games. I boarded the shiny new bus and was whisked off back to the park I so love. The guide was a Hackney resident who amongst other things was a former Gamesmaker during the games and she certainly knew her stuff.
After a quick Stratford History lesson on our way to the Marshgate Lane entrance we entered the park smoothly, with no sign of the surly G4S guards that I'd had to endure for 4 years while working on the park.
We travelled South to North and then East and back South again, covering every major venue.

The Riverbank Arena was completely gone as were the pitches.

The Wings on the Aquatics were part the way down, and the interior of the Basketball Arena was beeing stripped out as we passed with the Arena itself being taken down in the very near future.

It was a great hour and a bit, with a lovely guide and courtious driver that absolutely made my day.
My only regret was not being able to walk about, plant my feet once again, but Im looking forward to July 2013 when the north park opens and being able to do just that..

Enjoy some of the pictures from the day below.
